KMARJ: Your Procrastination Station

I am a perfectionist who procrastinates. Fortunately, I am someone who also works well under pressure. In fact, some of my best work has been created at the last minute (and then edited for hours). This combination of traits has served me well over the past 30 years, and dates back to my elementary school days, when a straightforward poster board project that I had pondered for weeks (but not yet begun) would keep me (and my devoted mother and father) up well past my bedtime the night before it was due. Simply replace that poster board with a diorama/book report/science fair project (still elementary school), research paper (middle and high school) or senior thesis (college) and you have one of the keys to my educational success. Fast forward to my post-college stint at a niche marketing firm (more on that at some point) and inevitable (I love me some music) career in radio (the crazy/beautiful industry I just spent 7 years of my life running around in), it's no wonder that I function well at the eleventh hour (also known as "chicken minus head" status). Which brings me to my current and most fulfilling gig of all time: Mother-In-Training/Very Personal Assistant to Mr. Cade -- a 6-month-old gem of a mini-human who keeps me on my toes all day, every day. The moral of the story? My bonus "degree" in procrastination has truly prepared me for the fast-paced, fly-by-the-seat-of-my-Joe's Jeans world that I apparently thrive in.

That is why I have purposely saved the publishing of this, my first blog posting EVER, for the very last day of January 2011. This blog has been 2+ years in the making and I figure that if I want it to be successful I might as well drag it out and let it linger until the very last possible second. Thanks for tuning in. I hope you enjoy the show . . .
